PROCESS
This is the only vignette I stopped working on before the concept was truly realized. I had originally intended to have her burst into birds. But after putting this together as a potential base layer, I decided to keep it as is.
A few years later I dove back into the setups.
This time, I wanted to convey the idea of spirit leaving the body, her true essence as light returning to Source. Her hair turns into a skull, an attachment to the material world.
Her trail forms an alien skull, one of the many forms of consciousness Source has taken.
This video shows parts of the process of creating EXPANSE (starting at 1:11) as well as Cronos, Longing for Oranos, the Rebirth of Gaea logo, etc.
