For years, Jesse Michael Newman created artwork in solitude, immersing himself during extended sabbaticals of a year or longer. REBIRTH of GAEA began as a small side project for his daughter but slowly evolved into an all-encompassing creative undertaking spanning six years.
Newman had never considered that Rebirth of Gaea would be seen outside of his daughter’s bedroom and was caught off-guard when a few close friends began pressing him with more and more intensity to share his art publicly, which he did at the 2012 International Art Expo in New York.
Within an hour of displaying his artwork publicly for the first time, representatives for a Saudi Arabian prince purchased the epic 12' x 4' Rebirth of Gaea. Running from March 22-25, the International Art Expo has been the world's largest fine art trade show for 35 years.
